About us

Colorado Clash volleyball is a newly established organization that came into existence in June 2023. The organization was founded with the intention of addressing the absence of volleyball teams in the northeastern part of Denver. Recognizing the growing interest in volleyball within the community, Colorado Clash aims to provide a nurturing environment where players can flourish and develop their skills.

The driving force behind Colorado Clash is Robert Saavedra, a dedicated Spanish teacher at DSST Elevate High School. Robert brings a wealth of experience to the organization, having spent eight seasons coaching both girls and boys volleyball at the varsity level and in club settings. His own background in the sport includes playing volleyball at Wilson High School in Los Angeles, CA, where he distinguished himself as an all-city player in his league. Volleyball has played a significant role in Robert's life, and he is passionate about affording student-athletes in the community the same opportunities he had. He sees volleyball as a means to instill valuable character traits within the youth of the community.

Robert Saavedra is deeply committed to his local community, having resided in the northeastern area of Denver for the past 16 years. His vision for Colorado Clash extends beyond simply promoting the sport of volleyball. He aspires to use volleyball as a tool for character development and community building. Additionally, he has future plans to establish a volleyball and basketball training facility in the same northeastern area of Denver. This facility will serve as a hub for developing local players' skills in both sports while also supporting their academic aspirations.

In summary, Colorado Clash volleyball was founded to fill a void in the northeastern part of Denver's sports scene and to provide an avenue for character development through volleyball. With Robert Saavedra's experience and commitment, the organization aims to nurture and develop young athletes in the community, ultimately helping them reach their academic and athletic goals.

Core Values

Colorado Clash volleyball has established a set of core values that guide its mission and approach to the sport. These core values are fundamental principles that shape the organization's culture and how it interacts with players, coaches, and the community:

Trust the Process: Colorado Clash believes in the importance of patience and dedication in the pursuit of excellence. Trusting the process means recognizing that growth and development take time and that consistent effort and commitment are key to achieving success in volleyball and life.

Build Players for Success: The organization is dedicated to not only teaching volleyball skills but also fostering personal and character development in its players. Colorado Clash aims to equip its athletes with the tools they need to succeed not only on the court but also in their future endeavors.

Work Hard, Play Hard: This core value emphasizes the balance between effort and enjoyment. While hard work and determination are essential for improvement and achievement, the organization also recognizes the importance of having fun and enjoying the sport. Colorado Clash seeks to create an environment where players can give their best effort while relishing their volleyball experiences.

Team over Talent: Colorado Clash values teamwork and collaboration over individual talent. While individual skills are important, the organization emphasizes the significance of working together as a cohesive unit. This core value promotes a sense of unity, camaraderie, and mutual support among players and coaches.

These core values serve as a compass for Colorado Clash volleyball, guiding its actions and decisions as it strives to make a positive impact on its players and the community. They reflect the organization's commitment to holistic player development and fostering a culture of hard work, trust, and teamwork.
